The last of the peonies.  The peony is 

named after Paeon, a student of Asclepius,

the Greek god of medicine and healing.  Asclepious

became jealous of his pupil and Zeus turned Paeon

into the peony flower to save him. (according to Wikipedia)

 The Peony is also the state flower of Indiana.

 I hope you enjoy my version of the peony.

 I do not think it will save anyone but,

hopefully it will make for a happy day!

My peonies were late blooming this year,

I guess it was due to the long winter we had.

They were beautiful, but they do not seem to 

last as long as I would wish.  By painting them,

I can keep it alive forever.

While on a recent visit to the Park of 

Roses, we were very disappointed, the 

roses were not in bloom, but I came across

this beautiful and peaceful scene that was

just so serene.  I wanted to stay all day and

just hang out and paint to my hearts content.
